Dolphins Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

News - Wed, 2009-07-29 21:55

As training camp approaches, the Dolphins continue to add stars to their franchise.

During this past offseason, new owner Stephen M. Ross has wisely left the personnel decisions up to vice president of football operations Bill Parcells, just like his predecessor H. Wayne Huizenga used to.

But off the field, Ross is fixated on making the Dolphins just as entertaining during timeouts and halftime as he hopes they are on the field after coming off an 11-5 season.

Ross has brought in South Florida Key West icon Jimmy Buffett to pen a new team song as well as use the name of Buffett's beer association to rename Dolphin Stadium, Land Shark Stadium.

Then he tabbed South Florida singing sensation Gloria Estefan and her husband, Emilo, as minority holders to add a...

Vick sweepstakes: One day and, so far, no takers (AP)

News - Wed, 2009-07-29 08:33

If any NFL teams are interested in Michael Vick, they're not saying. A day after the quarterback was conditionally reinstated to the league, only the Baltimore Ravens would directly acknowledge evaluating him. "We've had long discussions about Michael Vick and we have a feeling about how he would impact our team and not impact our team," coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday.

First came Csonka and Kiick, followed by Clayton and Duper. Now the Miami Dolphins' lineup features Gloria and J.Lo. It has been nine years since the Dolphins won a playoff game, 25 years since they reached the Super Bowl and 36 years since their most recent NFL title. Those streaks probably won't end in 2009, but the tailgate parties and halftime shows should be fun.

The Dolphins held the news conference Tuesday not in Miami but in the media mecca of Manhattan, with the bonus buzz of a...
